Foul thief

On 11 December 1906, Duncan Ross was tried at the Perth Criminal Court for stealing. The stolen property in question was two Buff Orpingtons (chickens) from the yard of Dr Hope. Fowl-stealing was a common offence during this period, with many suburban households keeping poultry. Ross was found not guilty.
